  • Congratulations to President Obama for nominating a woman for the Supreme Court. I know I’m going to get a lot of flak from many on the right for praising anything this president does. And for the most part they’d be right. But at least for this time I think he got it right.
Women represent a majority of the US population yet we are underrepresented in all levels of government. I know, I know. It’s the same battle cry from me again. But it bears repeating. The decisions being made on the Supreme Court are going to affect more women than men. That means we should have a representative number of women in the Court.
We can argue all day about the kind of appointment Sotomayor will be. It’s a good argument to have. The other day on Twitter a CNBC talking head asked a question about which nominee Conservatives would prefer now, Miers or Sotomayor. I responded “at least the debate is about which WOMAN deserves the nod more.”

  • Oops, Angela, I have to disagree on Sotomayor. I don’t want just any woman on the Supreme Court. I want a person who will interpret the law, adhere to the constitution, and not be swayed by a plaintiff or defendant’s race, gender, or socioeconomic status. She has already said as much as that she she plans to be biased.
Complete other subject - what does RT mean on Twitter? I’m new on Twitter, and don’t know the lingo.
